There are so many superstitions already attached to weddings – you must have something old, new, borrowed and blue, it’s unlucky for the groom to see the bride on the morning of the wedding, it’s lucky if Grandad passes out in the corner after too many celebratory drinks….actually I made that one up…although Granny will probably be glad of the peace and quiet……

I’m writing this on Friday 13th, a date that a lot of brides wouldn’t even consider choosing for their big day. I actually had to Google why Friday 13th is thought to be unlucky and there are a lot of different theories, from the number of people at the Last Supper, to Norse myth of a 13th God who was evil, through to the death of King Harold at the Battle of Hastings on Friday 13th.

Would you pick to get married on a Friday 13th? Is it just another day to you or does the thought of tying the knot on that date fill you with dread?
