Clare’s Wedding Story
We got married on the 7th August 2010 at 1pm. I proposed to my husband Mike by text when I was walking round Asda with my mum waiting for my dad to come out of hospital for his check up as he had been very ill.
We both knew we wanted to get married in a church but it was difficult as Mike had been married before. We went to St Peters Church Copt Oak, Leicestershire for over 6 months had lots of interviews with the vicar and he agreed to marry us there. As there was the Copt Oak pub next door and A War Memorial Hall we decided thats where we was going to have our reception.
We are a very fun loving couple and dont like too many formal things. So we opted for Grey top hat and tails, pink bridesmaid dresses, I had pink shoes and pink flowers which I have since had them freeze dried and they are hanging on my wall in the lounge.
Our order of service we had a picture of us done by a caracaturist – the caracaturist also did drawings of our guests, we had a bouncy castle, a hog roast, a flautist throughout the day, a toastmaster and a clown. Having a toastmaster was the best thing we did – it took away all of the stress and he was very good – he did Simon Cowells birthday party!. I made a speech too – I couldnt miss the opportunity to speak and thank people at my own wedding!
It was a fab day and the bouncy castle was the best money we had spent. Me and my hubby were the first people on it!
