As happens every year at this time the TV is full of adverts for fitness dvd’s, new miracle diets and weight loss clubs and glossy magazines are telling you the quick way to lose 5 stone by just sneezing ….(or similar)
Even wedding magazines are getting in on the act by telling you you must lose weight for your ‘big’ (or slightly smaller) day, but do you care? Is the pressure to look toned in a strapless wedding gown just adding to the stress of planning your big day? Or do you have the viewpoint that your Groom to be proposed to you as you are so why should you lose weight?
I have heard stories of brides crash dieting , girls ordering their dress two sizes smaller in order to make themselves lose the weight and and even getting themselves drip fed (yes…really!) to look skinny on their day.
Ultimately as with anything it is up to you, don’t let peoples opinions influence you either way (except for the drip feeding…they may have a point there..) I’d love to hear what you think, whether you are trying to lose weight or are happy as you are
Finally (and ironically) I’ve just embarked on a diet myself….no, I’m not getting married, but a life of making jewellery and writing books doesnt do much for the size of your posterior 🙁 I am trying the fasting diet also known as the 5:2 diet, I wont go into too much detail as there are books available on Amazon about this and I’m not on commission, but basically you eat normally 5 days a week and then restrict yourself to 500 calories on the other 2 days. It alleges to have a lot of health benefits alongside the weight loss part so perhaps may be worth trying if you are determined to have a teeny tiny strappy gown?…..or just say *$&^ it and go back to your cream cakes *drools*. You are a bride and will look beautiful no matter what size or shape you are!
